| The Minister for Employment and Learning officially opened USEL’s new premises in Cambrai Street on 18 September 2002. Speaking at the event the Minister said, "The work of USEL, and other organisations represented here today, is vital when we consider the worrying statistic that people with disabilities are only half as likely as people without disabilities to be in employment. I am pleased that my Department was able to help USEL move into this excellent new factory, and I am delighted that so much developmental work is taking place on these premises. It is good to know that USEL is moving forward so positively. Through a range of programmes USEL supports almost 1000 people with disabilities in public and private sector organisations throughout Northern Ireland". |
